Where PHP stands today

PHP 8.1 and older will never get an official fix

PHP shipped fixes on October 21 for supported versions only. Anything on PHP 8.1 or older needs a vendor backport, an upgrade, or to come offline.

Most exposure sits outside the main website, in admin tools, vendor-hosted sites and devices with a web interface.

Patched already?

Check what happened before you did

Patching closes the door. It doesn't tell you whether someone got in first. Review your logs from August 1, not from your patch date.

Turn on the right logs

Detection needs PHP and WAF logs to work with. Many environments don't keep them.

Look back far enough

Review web servers back to August 1 for shells, new PHP files and new admin accounts.

Contain what can't be patched

Upgrade, isolate or take offline anything on PHP 8.1 or older. WAF rules buy time, not safety.

Questions

Before you book

Is it really free?

Yes. There's no cost and no commitment.

Will it disrupt my systems?

It's designed not to. The check doesn't attempt full exploitation, and we agree timing with you first.

If the check comes back clean, am I safe?

It's a strong signal, not a guarantee. A clean result means we found no exposure we could test for. Patching and reviewing your logs back to August 1 still matter.

We already patched. Do we need this?

Patching closes the door, but it doesn't tell you whether someone got in before you patched. The check shows what's still exposed, and we can review your logs for earlier activity.
